A well-styled home not only about creating aesthetic rooms and spaces, but ensuring that your home functional and comfortable as well.

Furnishing your home professionally means that your lifestyle, location and budget is taken into account to provide both aesthetic and function, with furniture curated to you so that you won’t be constantly updating or upgrading furniture in the future which wastes both time and money.

Helps You Visualise Your Home

One thing I hear often during consultations is that my client is struggling to visualise how their home could look (and feel). They’ve just purchased a home or property and the blank floors and walls feel like a daunting task.

Having styled dozens of homes, I envision the final, furnished space, and my job is to relay that vision to you through personalised mood boards and concepts that showcase my ideas for the overall look and feel, as well as the specific furniture, art and homewares that are going to bring your home to life in real time.

Pinterest boards and inspirational photo folders can only take you so far, but a professional Interior Stylist knows how to turn it all into a realised, finished space or home.

Furniture Sourcing

Furniture sourcing is a large component of the work I do as an Interior Stylist, and it’s here where you’ll realise why having an expert on board is worth it. I often have enquiries from people who have rushed to buy furniture because of a showroom sale or because they left it to the last minute, and have regrets because the furniture:

  • Doesn’t fit — too big or too small for the room.

  • Doesn’t suit the overall style they’re really after.

  • Is the wrong colour/fabric/material for their lifestyle.

An Interior Stylist will make sure that each piece of furniture, whether it’s a sofa, bedside table or armchair, is the right size, scale and proportion for your room. I also take into consideration each piece of furniture in the context of your overall Interior Styling Concept so that I know that everything will work seamlessly together to achieve the look and feel we’re after.

Plus, I have access to trade furniture options that are not readily available to the public and early access to collections, which instantly gives you more + unique options to consider.

Artwork Curation

It’s something that is often left to the end as an afterthought in people’s homes, but artwork curation goes hand-in-hand with furniture sourcing as part of the Interior Styling Process.

Curating artwork that fits the brief for your home and personal taste will elevate the your home’s aesthetic and help with adding extra visual interest to your walls, shelves or surfaces (artwork doesn’t always have to be hung on walls to be effective).

My relationship with galleries and artists gives you access to exclusive works as well as the opportunity to create custom commissions that are the perfect size, colour and subject matter for each space.

Homewares Selection

When I talk about homewares, I’m referring to lamps and lighting, floor rugs, cushions, bed linen, coffee table books, vases and ceramic objects + more. These are the styling elements that make a home feel layered, and this part is usually when the space really starts to look and feel ‘complete’.

Always referring to the Interior Styling Concept that we create at the beginning of the process, homewares are selected with a less is more approach, designed to complement chosen furniture pieces and help to create the vibe or atmosphere of a room without adding visual clutter.

An Interior Stylist will be able to source unique pieces and products from industry suppliers, galleries, artists and showrooms — leaving you with an interior that’s curated, elevated + distinctly yours.

Save You Time + Money

Furnishing and styling a home, holiday or investment property is time consuming and requires many hours spent researching + procuring furniture, art and homewares and liaising with suppliers about inventory, availability and deliveries. Not to mention ensuring a cohesive overall concept taking into account colour, tone, texture, material, functionality etc. for each space.

Investing in anInterior Stylist is guaranteed to make the furnishing and styling your home simple and seamless — knowing that an expert is in control of every step of the process. You’ll also be confident that each and every piece in your concept has been considered both from an aesthetic and practical point of view, meaning you’ll avoid purchasing the wrong pieces which generally leads to having to re-purchase the correct piece + offloading the original at a financial loss. A waste of both your time and money.

Investing in an Interior Stylist will save you time, money + give you the elevated, curate home you’re after.
